SUPPORT MANAGER (South Monmouthshire)
HOURS: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm (Mon to Thur) 9.00 am to 4.30 pm (Fri)

DESCRIPTION:

This role offers a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for an individual who is looking for work in a fast-paced, organisational role.

Based in Abergavenny, you will be responsible for coordinating the weekly work schedule of support workers within South Monmouthshire area. You will work closely with support staff to ensure that all service user needs are met and all service user calls are covered at all times. You must have a professional and friendly manner both in person and on the telephone as you will regularly communicate with external professionals, support staff, service users and their families. You will be required to partake in the out-of-hours on call rota as determined by the Branch Manager.

You are also required to supervise and appraise support workers according to company requirements, ensuring to record and submit appropriate paperwork in a timely manner. Also, to induct, train and deliver community based training with all support workers, working flexibly to suit the training needs of support workers.

Candidates will be required to have good planning and organisatinal skills, a good level of computer literacy, be flexible and have the ability to cope well under pressure.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure.

TITLE:
SUPPORT WORKER
HOURS: Flexible
DURATION: Permanent
DESCRIPTION:

Working in your local community, you will assist vulnerable and elderly individuals with daily tasks to enable them to maintain their independence in their own home.

Duties can include:

Personal Care - involves assisting the service user with tasks of a more sensitive nature such as bathing, showering, dressing, toileting and night-sitting.

Practical (Domestic) Care - the aim of this service is to provide support for the service user with tasks such as shopping, cleaning, bed making and laundry.

Nutritional Care - involves assisting service users with preparation of hot meals, eating, food hygiene and menu planning.

No experience necessary as full training will be provided to NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care including an accredited induction training.

Hours are flexible but are we are especially interested in applicants who can work early mornings, evenings or weekends.

Travel expenses will be paid at 29 pence per mile.
