Q Care was established in December 1993 following Christine Danter's appointment the previous year to establish a new domiciliary care company. It was in the same year the company secured a contract with Gwent County Council to provide a domestic and shopping service. Q Care was one of the first companies to secure a block contract in South East Wales. The company very quickly secured two more contracts in North London and now provides many thousands of hours of care and support each week.
Between December 1999 and February 2000 Q Care bought two domiciliary care companies in Herefordshire to increase its customer and geographical base. One of the companies was a nursing agency which offered relief staff for residential and nursing homes within Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.
Q Care's constant growth has been developed through new contracts and accreditation in numerous local authorities across the UK.
Christine Danter worked in Gwent County Council's home care department until she was approached to develop a new domiciliary care business. There was a major gap in the market to meet the growing need for care at home following the implementation of the Community Care Act in 1993. Due to this, Q Care was formed.
Christine's aims are continuous growth in a diverse range of services along with employment opportunities in new communities across the UK. She feels there are still many opportunities out there for Q Care and its workforce to deliver high quality services.
